Making notes
Build the tapered green cap above the red band, then extend the ears on row 14. Position the paired eyes and three-part smile before closing the peach chin.
This holiday elf is a friendly head icon with a tall triangular cap, wide ears and a small downward-stepped smile. The cap's red band frames the plain peach face. Four colors keep the sorting manageable while preserving the pointed hat and expressive features.
Use the single top bead on row 4 as the cap's apex, widening its green terraces toward the forehead. Add the red band and the short drops beside the cheeks. Extend the peach ears beyond the band on row 14. After placing both eye dashes on row 16, build the two smile corners and its lower center before finishing the chin. The ears project farther sideways than the cap base. Shortening them by a column can make the sprite read as an ordinary person wearing a party hat. The mouth is three separate black cells in a shallow V arrangement; do not fill the peach square between its upper corners. Eye dashes are two cells each, not single dots.
Pattern layout and bead count
The full 23×23 square stays within a single standard pegboard. Ear-to-ear width reaches columns 3–21, while the cap and chin occupy rows 4–21. Three empty rows above the apex and two below the chin remain in exports, providing a stable frame for matching coordinates. Checkpoints: Row 4 contains a single Dark Green bead at column 12, the hat apex. Row 16 has black eye pairs at columns 9–10 and 14–15. The smile uses Black cells at row 18 columns 11 and 13, plus row 19 column 12. On row 14, Peach ear tips occupy columns 3–4 and 20–21 outside the red band.
Ways to customize this pattern
Try a gold hat band or a blue cap for a different workshop helper. Keep the projecting ears and pointed hat: those features distinguish this portrait from the Santa face.
Prepare 58 Dark Green P10, 34 Red P05, 79 Peach P33 and seven Black P18 beads. Four black beads make the two eye dashes and three form the smile. A contrasting band separates the hat from skin without needing a dark outline, leaving the facial marks as the only black details.
Print and iron checklist
The single-bead apex and ear ends are the most exposed parts of this portrait. Support the broad face during lifting and keep pressure off those tips while cooling. An ear can bend after incomplete fusing; follow the chosen beads' instructions and protect the small extremities. Before export, verify the 23×23 coordinates, 178-bead total and the selected brand’s merged color counts against the on-page material list.
Project ideas for Pointed Hat Elf
Use the smiling head as a workshop-themed name-card accent or a companion portrait beside Santa. A paper backing offers room for a handwritten name or hanging thread while supporting the projecting ears and pointed hat.
The source grid uses C and the other design symbols only as internal color roles. The interactive chart replaces them with the selected manufacturer codes, while its material list combines any roles that map to the same bead color.
