Making notes
Place the two ears and the broad head first. Add the eyes and nose before the scarf, then widen the seated body and leave the two little notches between the feet and belly.
This seated polar bear is a three-color winter animal icon, distinguished by rounded ear bumps, a broad pale head and a scarf draped to one side. Black is reserved for two eyes and one nose. The body is deliberately plain: there are no claw lines, paw pads or internal fur contours.
Build the paired ears and the top bridge of the head before filling the cheeks. Insert single black eyes on row 9 and the nose one row lower. Wrap the red scarf across row 13 and follow its right-hand tail downward. Fill the widening seated body last, preserving the two shallow notches along its bottom edge. White cells are beads, not the empty background; the ear gaps and bottom notches should stay open. The three facial marks are individual black squares, so enlarging them changes the expression quickly. The scarf tail is deliberately off-center and must not be mirrored onto the other side.
Pattern layout and bead count
A 21×21 grid fits one standard square pegboard. The occupied silhouette reaches columns 5–17 and rows 3–19, leaving a four-column frame at either side. Preserve the two blank guide rows at the top and bottom so the ears and feet retain their stated coordinates. Checkpoints: The eyes are Black beads at row 9, columns 9 and 13; the nose is at row 10, column 11. Row 13 contains eight Red scarf beads across columns 7–14. Row 19 has White runs at columns 5–8, 10–12 and 14–17, leaving two one-cell bottom notches. Row 3 begins the two ears with White pairs at columns 6–7 and 15–16.
Ways to customize this pattern
Change only the scarf for a matching winter set. Keep the white coat and rounded ears for this polar bear version; the chart has no grey muzzle, paw pads or fur shading.
Prepare 161 White P01, three Black P18 and 17 Red P05 beads. Keep the tiny black pile aside until the face is ready so no eye bead is mistaken for a belly button. The scarf can become blue or green while leaving the white coat untouched.
Print and iron checklist
The ears extend beyond the narrower temples, and small gaps separate the lower foot shapes. Support those outer corners while lifting the bear and let the broad head cool flat. Consult the material maker's heating instructions before fusing. Before export, verify the 21×21 coordinates, 181-bead total and the selected brand’s merged color counts against the on-page material list.
Project ideas for Scarf Polar Bear
Pair the seated bear with the snowman on a winter greeting card or include it in a small animal display. A support backing is useful for hanging or mounting, especially when the decoration will be handled near the ears.
The source grid uses A and the other design symbols only as internal color roles. The interactive chart replaces them with the selected manufacturer codes, while its material list combines any roles that map to the same bead color.
